Almost everyone in the financial world – but also an increasing number of entrepreneurs in other areas - agree: a balance sheet is no longer sufficient for a proper valuation of a company. Balance sheets only show the financial situation, and ignore intrinsic value. A growing number of entrepreneurs no longer steer their businesses toward profits alone, but toward principles such as social relevance, communal impact and sustainability, and see money purely as a vehicle to attain these values.
At the moment, the relation between the non-financial, deeper values, of an organization and the financial ones is being researched. The aim is to create an addition to the balance sheet, as a way to value companies. What will it mean for our organizations and people? Can we steer our companies in a different way and still be valued by banks and investors? These questions can only be answered if we explore ideas together and that is why the Scale of Significance open source is organized. Join the Creathon and share your ideas!
With in this programme the following speakers;
The Creathon will be organized in order to develop the philosophy further, tell more people about what it is and define concrete next steps toward realising the valuation model. In a world-café style setting, we will engage in dialogue, share stories and experiences, and hold a ‘sharp and essential’ discussion about the different perspectives surrounding an integral valuation of organizations.
The idea for the Scale of Significance started with Manifesto. But its significance is larger. It is essential for the entire economy. And not only in the Netherlands, but the world over.
The Scale of Significance is developed Open Source. Hence it belongs to everyone. At the same time, it is important to establish clear guidelines, so that everyone can at some point embrace the new standard that is accepted and used all over the world.
